Pogoplug Mobile

According to this review and tear down. The Pogoplug Mobile is "88F6192 Kirkwood ARMv5 NAS system-on-chip running at 800 MHz". Note it said the plug has 10/100 Ethernet port, should be Gigabit Ethernet.

It's slightly newer, but essentially the same, and down clocked.

It's also supposedly cheaper. Here is the Mfg spec sheet: http://www.marvell.com/embedded-process ... 3_ver1.pdf

Do you mean it's literally a down-clocked version of that processor? Or that the processor is a down-clocked version of the original Kirkwood? The spec sheet you link to seems to suggest that it's a native 800Mhz chip.

Trying to understand what the chances are of getting a good port in the future for the new Series 4 announced today - given that it's the same form factor, and given that they're already willing to sell it for $49.99, I would think it's running the same "cheaper" CPU, but my tireless search for any info/speculation on the internals is coming up blank.

Thanks, was already all over it elsewhere:

Fingers crossed on seeing what 800Mhz Kirkwood + USB3/SATA can achieve - won't hold my breath, but we'll see.

Yes, understood - the combination of the two links was explained further down the page. Wasn't referring to the OP's link.
