Netgear stora kernel support

Postby pazos » Mon Jul 02, 2012 11:37 am

I have a netgear stora that arrived me a week ago and now its running mainline kernel (3.2.21). Some patches that I've found to support netgear stora (like https://github.com/kenchy/stora_iconnec ... rm/configs) relay on older patches that make modifications on file arch/arm/mach-kirkwood/mpp.h (multi purpose pin configuration file) and we dont need this anymore.

I can submit a patch to archlinuxarm to support the netgear stora but this device needs a config file just for itself. As far as I can see all supported devices work well with default kirkwood target 'make kirkwood_defconf' but the stora needs other drivers for RTC than the mv-rtc present in most kirkwood machines.

Any ideas?

Not likely. It will load whichever is appropriate.

So pazos, why is a special config file needed?

Sorry about delay :)

It needs a config file because it has both RTC (the marvell one and a philips/epson via i2c) and the internal one
initialize first ( but is not connected and not ticking ) of course we can use rtc1 to set time at boot, but we
need a config file too.

In any cases if somebody wants i can provide both support patch & configuration file
