Odroid X2 HDMI fails

Postby Dudeman » Fri Dec 14, 2012 4:26 pm

Followed instructions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/odroid-x, but I can't get the HDMI to work. It works for android partition on the eMMC card addon fine.

I've been ssh ing in the box to install etc, but am stuch as to where to look. I use Arch on my everyday box, but am a newby still.

I was looking at the /etc/X11/xorg.conf at the line Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb2" wondering if it shoudl be a difference device ?

Thanks

Well, currently the kernel that you're using is for the X, not the X2. I'll poke at it when i get a bit of time.

Tried all the fb's, no go, guess theres a bigger difference in the kernel between X and X2 ? Now I look at free, I don't think it recognises all 2G memory either, perhaps other things. I know they are due to release a kernel and ubuntu build on 17th December or possible 18th So I'm patcient.

I know that the memory won't register as complete just yet.

For the HDMI, do me a favor and install fbset and then run $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'fbset -fb /dev/fbX ') for each of the /dev/fb entries and paste it below.

So, with current kernel configs, it will either be /dev/fb1 or fb2...As I dont have an X2, we may have to beg mdrjr to figure it out!

Well thanks, got it working kind of....

its on fb1, but I had to run startx from a ssh'd window, from another computer. I thought I'd installed lxdm and configured it but obriously missed something. It is slow, without access to all 2G, which I'm gussing will be available with the new kernel due out any day.

Thanks for your help
