  • Power: good, and watchdog fixed.
  • WOL : not tested... but should be operable.
  • Boot : no usb rootfs, left drive (bare! no partitions!), sector issues? not aware..
  • USB3 : after boot
  • RTC: supported, but happens mid-boot, so might not be perfect. Driver built-in.
  • Installtion : see official platform support page.

I tried installing (a couple of times), but keep running into the same problem;
After installation the 2nd HDD is not available, and the system LED is a solid orange.
After manually adding the 2nd drive and a reboot, the drive is gone again.

I read this entire thread, and understand this problem should be solved...
I downloaded the installation files from the Arch NSA325 page.
I'm using 2TB drives, and have added the boot and rootfs partitions to /etc/fstab

Am I doing something wrong, or did I forget something?

Did you do an upgrade after installation?

An upgrade?
No...

I have seen no mention of when or how to upgrade?
Also, do I need to go through (part of) the post-install steps, as described in the Wiki pages?

[EDIT]
Ran updates using the command:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu')
Rebooted, and now have a second HDD as well.
Thanks a lot!

[EDIT 2]
The System LED is still orange though...
Also, the HDD flash simultaneously, and USB LED never lights up.
Do I need to install something for LED control?

Right now the HDD trigger is a single trigger for the sata subsystem, AFAIK. There are some patches, but they have not been places against the kernel recently, as far as I am aware. This adds to that.

I suppose a tmpfiles.d-based package would be enough for LED configuration at boot.

Nope, I don't do debian. My kernel patches should be fine. The guys over at Doozan should be able (or maybe have already) integrate them and roll it up.

I've been using Arch for a week now, and I have to say...
This installation has made the NSA325 a MUCH more usefull device than with the original firmware (+ FFP)!
I needed some getting-used-to PacMan, but I got everything running smoothly in a couple of hours.

Anyone who's thinking about installing a Linux distro on their NAS, don't hasitate to use Arch!
(Almost) Everything you need can be installed directly using pacman, and the online help-pages are awesome!
They guide you through the configuration of the most important stuff. (I believe for every package available)
A LOT easier than using FFP.

Again, excellent stuff!
I got more than I hoped for.
