I mounted /dev/sda1 onto /mnt and copied uImage
rebooted and now I have access to the 2 rear usb-2 ports.
The front usb3 port still is unresponsive.
I executed the above commands and now have access to my second disk.
Thanks.

I have noticed my time always starts at Wed Dec 31 CST 1969. There is a message that there is no access to the hardware clock.

Is there a work around for the clock ?

I did not see any files in http://os.archlinuxarm.org/os/nsa3x0/ or in the nsa320-alarm.tar.gz file that relates to the board.

where might I look for the board file information ?

Thats not the "board file" I was referring to.
See the below for an example.

hi,
besides pateintly awaiting (more or less :-) ) a solution for nsa325 running linux on usb-stick, i consider to install linux on a harddisk until the "usb-solution" is available.
if using archlinux or debian, having asterisk, ftp-server, mysql, asterisk, nagios and mpd installed (maybe some further small tools), will the harddisk run permanently, or will everything be located in memory? is there a major difference between archlinux and debian regarding memory usage (is it better to use archlinux to have the harddisk sleep most of the time)?

Either way, you can move write-heavy things to ramdisk, since they have 512, you should be fine.

ok, e.g. logging could be redirected to a ramdisk anbe copied to hdd from time to time - but how can i identify further activities, that prevent the hdd from going to sleep?

just another question:
i am going to have two hdds in my nsa325, i will call them now hdd1 and hdd2.
hdd1 will have linux installed. in parallel there will be my private data stored.
hdd2 will only have most of my data stored (i plan to backup my data from hdd1 to hdd2 once a week).
in case of an outage of hdd1 i want to get my system back to work as fast as possible, so the linux from hdd1 should be copied to hdd2 as well.

would it be possible to move hdd2 into the slot from hdd1 and it will work?

kind regards,

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('astrakid', 'h')ow can i identify further activities, that prevent the hdd from going to sleep?

install inotify-tools, then:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'inotifywait -r -e modify -e create -e move -e delete -e attrib -m /{bin,boot,etc,home,opt,root,sbin,srv,usr,var}')

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('astrakid', 'i') am going to have two hdds in my nsa325, i will call them now hdd1 and hdd2.

Yes, with software raid1. However, you should wait until the NSA325 gets its own board file first (so the second drive will spin up before the raid array gets assembled).

Edit: raid is not required. You can also create the necessary paritions and system files on hdd2 and the system will still boot if you swap the drive positions.
