SMILE Plug Community Support & Roadmap

Postby dD23Box » Thu Jan 31, 2013 12:26 am

I recently received a SMILE Plug running Arch Linux ARM running a 2.6.x kernel.

What is the current status regarding community support for this Marvell ARMv7-based device? Is it likely that we shall see a newer kernel build supporting the SMILE Plug?

A newer kernel is a ways off, though an updated, "clean" root filesystem without the SMILE software load will be coming soon.

That is great news. What will be involved in updating the currently shipping SMILE Plug to the new version without the edu software?
