I am no expert on these things but I was able to get myself command access even though the kernel does not have pty's. If anyone with more knowledge wants to help chime in.
The white Literati there is so far known to be two different versions. Currently I have 19027.
19027
Has 512KB NAND
Does not have pty's compiled into kernel
666 BogoMIPS
19028
Has internal 2GB SD card
Does have pty's compiled into kernel
500 BogoMIPS
19028 would be easier to work with as all you have to do is back it up the 2GB SD card and you would not need jtag if something goes wrong. However the cpu is slower.
