Postby zeppelinlg » Thu Dec 18, 2014 2:30 pm

Hello

I use archarm on my raspberry pi. It's a good alternative to rasspbian (pacman is fastest than apt)
I just buy an odroid-C1, can I install archlinux on it ? Will you support it later ?

Sorry for my English I'm french :)

Thanks for your help.

Support will be in the pipeline once we receive the units from HardKernel

Wait, by "support", you mean that you'll test it works and say "okay, it's supported", right?

I should be able to just order one of these and install Arch ARM in a pretty simple manner, since it's so similar to many other ARM devices Arch ARM supports, right? (Hypothetically and non-officially, of course) :D

My Odroid-C1 arrived last night...
After starting with the Ubuntu image, I got annoyed at it not being Arch, so decided to compile things, and use the armv7 multi platform file for starters...

The HDMI I have not managed to get working, (either on Ubuntu or Arch). This seems to be more down to me using a DVI adapter (odroid seems to say most have of these adapters cause problems)

I will post a sanitised disk image soon, as I do not have a monitor which I can use HDMI directly with.

Below is uSD image (for a 2GB card),
https://www.dropbox.com/s/r4fgpopgjsn20kv/OdroidC1_uSD.img.tar.bz2?dl=0

As normal...
user : root, pass: root
SSH and serial are working (as previously mentioned I haven't been able to check the hdmi)
The kernel and uBoot are based off the ubuntu version with a few extras.

Give me a shout if it isn't playing!
-- Also, although the partition table may claim the first bit of the cards is empty, don't believe it, as uBoot is sat there! (See http://odroid.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=en:c1_partition_table#ubuntu_partition_table for details)

I'm not sure if I can help but I'd like to. I asked in the IRC channel but got brushed off.

Can we overlay the provided kernel and uboot built with the linaro toolchain on top of a base arch linux arm install to get there? I'd love to tinker and help in any way I can if anyone can provide guidance.
