Missing required signature

Postby abarbarian » Tue Jul 24, 2012 1:43 am

Whilst trying to do a fresh install today I got this message whilst trying to install "moc"

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'E')RROR libltdl missing required signature
ERROR failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
Errors occured. no packages were upgraded.

I also got a similar message whilst trying to install "alsa-utils"

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'E')RROR missing required signature
ERROR failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
Errors occured. no packages were upgraded.

Any one else had the same ?

Have you been futzing with the mirror list, or pacman config?

I have installed about 25 programs along with all their dependencies about 300 MB with these settings. I had under the "options" section

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')igLevel = Optional TrustedOnly

and

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')core]
SigLevel = PackageRequired
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[community]
[alarm]
[aur]
[extra]
SigLevel = PackageOptional
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

However today I could not install half a dozen programs so I changed these

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')core]
#SigLevel = PackageRequired
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[community]
[alarm]
[aur]
[extra]
#SigLevel = PackageOptional
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

and everything installed ok.Why is that ? Are some packages not being signed ? Should I change my settings back again ? 8-)
