I think there aren't any solutions for this problem.
not a simple one anyway. The RPi simply does not have the hardware support for wake-on-whatever.
I personnally connect my RPi to the usb port of the monitor it displays on. That also means that there is no "headless" mode. Switch off the monitor, switch off the RPi.
Everything else would involve some sort of remote controlled power supply.
