Don't think the hd has any problem. Before I was using it with the pi, I sometimes used it in the desktop and downloaded torrents to it, and it worked just fine. I'm also able to play 1080p movies from there to..
The only thing I'm not 100% sure if it's right is the power supply. It's ratted as 1A, and 5v but I cannot be sure it is delivering enough power. The hd uses it's own power supply, but I don't know if it drains a bit from the rpi too...

Any good and relatively cheap power supply and/or powered usb hub you can recommend?

Best regards

Some major USB rework has been done, pacman -Syu to catch it.
Worth testing to see if problem is fixed

Hi,
please tell me: with the USB rework, is the problem fixed? I have the same problem with raspberry pi, USB-WiFi, OS: raspbmc (debian based).

moony, as far as I'm aware, we all share the same kernel, albeit maybe with some config diffs.
There might be /boot/cmdline.txt and /etc/sysctl.conf differences too

Important part of /etc/sysctl.conf
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'vm.min_free_kbytes=8192')

/boot/cmdline.txt (one line)
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sdhci-bcm2708.enable_llm=1 sdhci-bcm2708.sync_after_dma=0 smsc95xx.turbo_mode=N dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=ttyAMA0,115200 kgdboc=ttyAMA0,115200 console=tty1 loglevel=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 init=/bin/systemd rootfstype=ext4 rootwait')
