[SOLVED] Error in pacman when updating

Postby smulverine » Fri Jan 24, 2014 5:37 am

Since a few days I'm getting this error when I perform a pacman -Syu:

:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/local/gcc-4.8.2-7/desc: No such file or directory
looking for inter-conflicts...

I'm using this server:
http://mirror.archlinuxarm.org/$arch/$repo

I've tried cleaning up the pacman cache with pacman -Sc.

I'm getting new packages and they install just fine. Just wondering what the issue is.

So what is "ls /var/lib/pacman/local/gcc*"

And what is the output of "pacman -Q gcc"?

I'm running gcc 4.8.2-7.

Content of /var/lib/pacman/local/gcc-4.8.2-7 is two files: install and mtree.

The problem seems to be fixed by touching a 'desc' file in this directory.
Maybe it's a problem with the gcc package. I'll contact the maintainer.

Thanks for the help.

There is no problem with the package, the problem is with your system.
