Silent Login

Postby crankshaft » Fri Sep 19, 2014 12:27 pm

I have analmost silent boot, I do not see any kernel messages, but I cannot get rid of this:

Welcome to Arch Linux ARM
Website: http://archlinuxarm.org
Forum: http://archlinuxarm.org/forum
IRC: #archlinux-arm on irc.Freenode.net

I already have .hushlogin and when I login via SSH I do not get this welcome message, but the console display (which is using FBTFT on SPI) will always show this welcome message.

How can I disable it ?

Do you want a getty on it?

Thanks, I am already using a getty:

/etc/systemd/system/autologin@.service
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty --skip-login --noissue --autologin root %I 38400 linux
Type=simple

What I am trying to achieve is a silent boot and login straight to a full screen webkit browser with a single, fixed url.

Right now everything is silent except for this final welcome screen !

That's it, I deleted /etc/motd and the welcome message has gone.

But I did not add this and it is a fresh install ?!

It's only on the rpi rootfs, aimed at inexperienced people having a dabble with alarm
