Unable to set interface 'ra0' up on raspberry pi

Postby Apophis » Mon Dec 29, 2014 8:09 pm

Hello,
I have a new raspberry pi and I'm new in Archlinux. (and I'm french... but I hope I can be understood in english...)
I have bought a wireless usb adaptor on amazon, this model : http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00PK5FHUI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
It seems be ok for the raspberry pi, but I have a problem.

Output of lsusb is :

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:7601 Ralink Technology, Corp. MT7601U Wireless Adapter

So I installed dkms-mt7601 .
lsmod says that the module mt7601Usta is enabled, and I can see "ra0" with iwconfig,
but when I do

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'w')pa_supplicant -i ra0 -D wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

the output is

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')uccessfully initialized wpa_supplicant
Could not set interface ra0 flags (UP): Operation not permitted
WEXT: Could not set interface 'ra0' UP
ra0: Failed to initialize driver interface

What can I do for enable this interface ? I am now using wired connection, but i would like to use wireless connection with the raspberry pi...
Thank you in advance.

Problem solved by installing this driver : https://github.com/porjo/mt7601 instead of package dkms-mt7601.
