latest update won't boot

i did a pacman -Syu, and it required new config.txt and cmdline.txt files. i copied the new ones over and merged in my changes (gpu_mem settings). now i can't boot. any ideas? thanks,

Is it the rw setting in cmdline.txt for the root filesystem?

Check the other threads, this has been issue for some folks.

thanks, that is certainly part of the problem. are there any docs on the release? looks like a couple things changed in cmdline that i missed.
