[SOLVED] Unable to boot after pacman -Syu on fresh install

Hello all,

just FYI, I have the same issue. I bought new bigger SD card "SanDisk SDHC 32GB Ultra Class 10" and wanted to replace old one "ADATA SDHC 16GB Class 10 Turbo". On the old one ADATA I have Archlinux fully updated and works without any problem:

When I copied the system to the new one SanDisk Raspberry didn't boot. Then I tried to put latest 2012-12-16-wheezy-raspbian and worked fine, then I put archlinux-hf-2012-09-18 and also worked fine, BUT when I did a update pacman -Syu with the latest firmware and kernel it won't boot. So this issue is for sure linked with hardware SanDisk as my ADATA working without any problem.

I will try when there will be a new firmware, hope it will work.

Does the card have a U with an i in it?

I tried already to remove sdhci-bcm2708.sync_after_dma=0 from cmdline.txt as mentioned in this thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4020
but without success, still don't want to boot

I experience the same problems as described in this thread.
My card is the 16GB version of the one which pelikan81 posted the link to. It also has the U with the 1 in it on it.
So, a wild guess here: This has something to do with UHS-I.
It also seems to me, that the is somewhere in bootcode.bin, because I can boot perfecty with a new kernel and an old bootcode.bin.

We have to nail down what card(s) afftected, did you see wikipedia note on voltage difference? That would be in bootcode.bin

I updated my raspberry pi today and rebooted 2 times (with the new firmware/bootcode.bin).
It seems fixed for me now, what about the rest of you?
