Raspberry Pi 0 W bootloop after wifi setup

Postby ohgodwhy » Wed Jan 23, 2019 10:28 am

Hi,

So I installed Arch ARM on a rp0w 1.1 2016 version, based on this:
https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/raspberry-pi

I installed the ARMv6 version (ArchLinuxARM-rpi-latest.tar.gz)
from https://archlinuxarm.org/about/downloads

A this point the Pi booted normally and presented a login prompt.
Since I do not have the necessary USB to microUSB cables for a keyboard, I opted for setting up Wi-Fi.

I used the script in this thread to set up wifi at boot:
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=11529
I double-checked that the script ran correctly and every file is present where it should

Now if I reboot, the PI reboots during startup indefinitely after these messages:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[ OK ] Started Network Service.
...
[ OK ] Reached Target Local File Systems.
...
Mounting /boot
Starting Load/Save RF Kill Switch Status
[ 15.618153] FAT-fs (mmcblk0p1) Volume was not properly unmounted . Some data may be corrupt. Pease run....
[ OK ] Mounted /boot
[ OK ] Reached Target Local File Systems.
[ OK ] Started Create Volatile Files and Directories
[ 16.237372] kauditd_printk_skb: 3 callbacks supressed
...
Starting Entropy Harvesting Daemon...
Starting Network Time Resolution...
Starting Network Name Resolution...
Starting Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown...
[ OK ] Started Entropy Harvesting Daemon
...
[ OK ] Started Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown
...
[ OK ] Started Network Time Synchronization
...
[ OK ] Reached target System Initialization.
[ OK ] Started Daily Cleanup of Temporary Directories.
[ OK ] Listening on D-Bus System Message Bus Socket.
[ OK ] Reached target Sockets.
[ OK ] Reached target Basic System
[ OK ] Started D-Bus System Message Bus.
')

This is the last message I see, then screen goes black and PI reboots.

If i revert the changes of the script, the PI boots normally again.

Tried to unplug the hdmi cable also, but based on the indicator led, and the fact that it is not present on the network, it seems that this did not help.

The SD card is a 16GB samsung card and does not seem to be in bad condition.

Changed the power source from a phone charger to the normal Raspberry pi3 charger.

It works now, wifi is conencted also.

Strange, is there was no low voltage sign during boot.
