How to disable the undervoltage and audit message completely

Postby 3HHN » Wed Jun 30, 2021 4:30 pm

it's really annoying to see those error logs shows up especially when I'm working on TTY, they will ruin the output, is there any way to disable those error messages completely?

for audit see here in the "Installation" section:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Audit_framework

edit:
regarding power I found this hint on google:
"Get a better power supply and cables."

Where should I apply this $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'audit=0') to?
I've tried to add it into /boot/config.txt but it doesn't work.

The link ufo6000 supplied gives you the answer. You must add it as a kernel parameter. For raspberry pi that would be /boot/cmdline.txt.

As for the undervoltage detection, if you run a pi on a regular 5V supply and don't connect anything power hungry on the USB ports you should be fine. As soon as you connect for example a USB external harddrive you might get voltage drops giving this message. Either power your USB peripherals externally or better: use a 5.1V power supply wich can supply at least 2.5A, the bigger the better. And don't go for the cheap ones. Look for raspberry pi powersupply on official dealer websites.

I run a RPi4 with 2TB USB harddrive as a NAS with a 5.1V/2.5A supply and never get these messages.

I've added $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'audit=0') to /boot/cmdline.txt it doesn't work as well.

which Pi do you own ? and which image did you use for installation exactly ?
I'm asking, because there exists 2 different boot loaders...

My link has also a 2nd solution for audit. But it seems you won't like my links at all ;)

on aarch64 you have the uboot loader:

go into /boot
edit the line "setenv bootargs ..." in /boot/boot.txt and append your kernel parameter.
and run ./mkscr

If you are unsure, I suggest to read my link (the 3rd time 8-) ) and have a look at the other way, which I assume is easier and less dangerous.
