Video not working on latest kernel?

Postby minomic » Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:19 am

I updated my Pi 3 Model B with the usual

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sudo pacman -Syu')
but, after rebooting, I had no more signal from the HDMI. I have Kodi starting automatically as a service, but the TV was just showing "No signal".

I could still ssh into the Pi, and saw error messages in dmesg and journalctl mentioning "flip_done timed out".

I searched a bit and found years-old threads that were suggesting to downgrade the kernel. I did so and went back from 5.10.78-2 to 5.10.76-1. Now everything works again, but I was wondering if other people have the same issue.

Normally, before updating I check the forum to see if someone is mentioning problems, but saw nothing in this case.

I don't have a pi3 for testing. Latest kernel works on pi4 for me. If you believe there is a bug and it is fixed by downgrading, you should report it upstream.

I 've got the same trouble. I tried with kernel linux-raspberrypi 5.10.78-2 and linux-raspberrypi4 on my pi3 without any success.
