Testing Sd card performance

Postby MrGreen » Thu May 31, 2012 5:39 am

From reading up on Pi find a lot of threads and articles about sd card performance. I added a swapfile to sd card [which I know is a bad idea!] as system was struggling to install updates....

Been thinking of moving / off sd card to a usb drive not sure that will make any difference.

Or does it really depend on sd card type and size?

I bet its about card type and size. Why don't you get a few different kinds and do some benchmark testing? I'm sure the community would love some hard data.

Not to do with card, but get more extra ram by naming file that starts /boot/arm224 to /boot/start.elf
