Cant find xbmc in community repo

Postby brainpool » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:55 am

Hello,

i have activated all repos in pacman.conf (yes, also the community repo) but pacman says, that xbmc ist not available!
Why he cant find the xbmc package as described here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HO ... Arch_Linux ?

How can i install the xbmc on my Raspberry Pi?

From inside alarm:
pacman -Ss xbmc

I would also suggest removing those community repos, I don't believe any of them apply to arm.

Which is the default arm repo where i can find the xbmc package (except the AUR repo)?

pacman -Ss xbmc <-- pacman cant find the xbmc pkg, its not available.
Im looking for xbmc (like at page 91 at http://archlinuxarm.org/packages), not xbmc-git or something else.

Unfortunately, at the moment, xbmc is not "just that simple" on the Raspberry Pi.

What do you want to say?
Is there noch repo?

I mean, there are several distro out there (openELEC, Raspbmc, ...) with preinstalled xbmc. It should work, shouldnt it?

They've also got dedicated teams, and many more pis than our developers have.

Devices: 1
Developers with devices: 1
Developers with time to specialize on the device: 0

The xbmc-git from the other discussion is currently the total community efforts to get it up and running in full on our distribution.
