MCEUSB module on kernel

Postby guisacouto » Mon Jun 25, 2012 2:27 pm

Is it possible to include the mceusb in the kernel from the repo? Since there is so many people using raspberry pi with xbmc, I think it would be nice.. better then everyone having to compile the kernel every once in a while just to get that module.

Best regards

I actually opened a bug about this on github yesterday.
https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/issues/186

Also here is a mceusb module for the linux-raspberrypi-3.1.9-25
kernel. It should basicly work with any linux-raspberrypi-3.1.9
kernel relesease.

ftp://huulivoide.pp.fi/Arch/arm/mceusb.ko.gz

copy it to /lib/modules/3.1.9-25-ARCH+/kernel/drivers/media/rc
and run 'depmod' and then you can modprobe it ^_^

Tks! Will test it tomorrow:) I hope this is added soon. It's just a waste of compile time for something so small to not be included in the kernel from the repos.
