Hello!
As I can see in the packages list, it looks like GHC 6.12.3-1 is the latest version available. However, it's already two years old and it seems the ARM backend has lately improved a lot. Is there any reason to hold it back to that particular version? Are there any plans to update it, say, to the current version GHC 7.4.2?

It's part of a dependancy loop, so we'll get to that as soon as we can.
