Headless e17 vnc keyboard problem

I have e17 running on my pi with headless vnc on display :1. I couldn't get it to run headless on :0.

Here is the problem, when I try to type the wasdx keys do not work. If I use the cap lock they work fine. The only error I get is "xkb extension not present on :1".

Any help?
