[SOLVED] problem with the ABS

Postby tilas » Sat Nov 24, 2012 9:15 pm

Hello everyone!
I'm posting here because I'm stuck for a week trying to install the Arch build package.

Following the wiki, I got the base-devel and abs package,
but here is the output of sudo abs :
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')$ sudo abs
==> Downloading tarballs...
==> core...
==> ERROR: Download failed
==> extra...
==> ERROR: Download failed
==> community...
==> ERROR: Download failed
==> multilib...
==> ERROR: Download failed

reading these two similar posts, it tried the following commands:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 53&t=12146
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=136045

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')$ tracepath rsync.archlinux.org

However I don't know what to do with this... Could somebody help me ?

Yes that is the very thread that I said I read in my original post. Is there something I missed inside ?

I tried changing the resolv.conf already (but I don't know what does the "search stavrovski.net" line means).
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')$cat resolv.conf.head
# OpenDNS servers

nameserver 208.67.220.220

OK it's working now.
I did try again "sudo abs", which gave me the same error.
Then I tried "sudo abs core" and... it worked !

Then I tried "sudo abs" again and to my surprise it seemed to work. I don't really see why, was i expected to update the core only first ?

Anyway, probelm "solved"
