Qt5 with Frame buffer support

Postby xarxer » Sun Apr 21, 2013 10:12 am

Hi fellas. For the last two days I've tried to cross compile Qt5 for the RPi device with arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc toolchain to get framebuffer support, but I just can't get the toolchain to work.

Is there any chance that the packages in the repos can be compiled with framebuffer support?
Thanks! :)

I would suggest that you use eglfs for rendering. I'm currently working on complete tutorial for making Qt5 packages for Raspberry Pi on Arch Linux, but I still have a long way to go. The goal is to get everything that standard Qt5 packages have + eglfs support for Raspberry Pi.

You can try to follow official Beginner’s guide to cross-compile Qt5 on Raspberry Pi. It' written for Raspbian, but most of tutorial can be applied to Arch Linux ARM.

Ah, thanks a bunch for eglfs tip! :)

I'm not having much success with the compiler mentioned in the article, or with the ones from cross-compile-tools, or even generating my own compiler with crosstools-ng.

I will continue in my adventure of cross-compilation, but in the meantime, if anyone has successfully cross-compiled Qt5 for the Raspberry Pi, any tips are greatly appreciated! :)

Hey there.
Sorry, I've had no success so far, but I've started a new thread in order to try to get some help. You can find it here.
Best of luck to you!
