Anyone with sound issues after last turn of updates?

I have updated today, after at least a month. I've seen there are firmware and kernel updates (but minor). I've used kernel-latest so far, everything worked fine.
After kernel update I rebooted the Pi and after few minutes instructed mpd daemon to play, mpd reported "No audio sink".
System hanged, could not login via ssh, nothing.
After a while and severa hard reboots I deducted that everything related to sound hangs the system, even speaker test.

Steps to reproduce:

Update, reboot, try to use alsa.

Maybe you should sync before you reboot, to make sure all changes have been written to disk.
