Weston broken on RPI

Postby biga » Tue Feb 18, 2014 12:47 am

I've just installed the latest ArchLinux release for RPI and weston (1.4.0). I have also installed ALL the latest RPI and Linux firmware. When I attempt to run "weston-launch" I get the following: "Failed to load module: /usr/lib/weston/rpi-backend.so: undefined symbol: vc_dispmanx_set_wl_buffer_in_use"

Did you just install the firmware, or do pacman -Syyu? And sync and reboot to make sure all changes have been properly implemented.
What do you see when you cat /proc/version?

Hello, I have the same problem.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Date: 2014-02-25 MST

[07:14:13.383] Failed to load module: /usr/lib/weston/rpi-backend.so: undefined symbol: vc_dispmanx_set_wl_buffer_in_use')

my cat /proc/version
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Linux version 3.10.32-1-ARCH (nobody@root-armv6-copy) (gcc version 4.8.2 20131219 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 PREEMPT Mon Feb 24 02:03:19 MST 2014')

Pacman -Ss rasp
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'alarm/raspberrypi-firmware 20140223-1 [installed]

I made pacman -Syyu and reboot, the error continues.

Same problem here. It seems that this patch (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/wayland-devel/2013-November/012269.html) avoids the problem until a version of libraspberrypi with the proper symbols in place is released.

EDIT 72/02 16:25 UTC: I have just downloaded today's version. The problem persists, but now the undefined symbol is vc_dispmanx_display_get_info
