raspberrypi-firmware-20150112-1-any update how?

I ran pacman -Syu today and noticed raspberrypi-firmware-20150112-1-any.pkg.tar.xz downloaded and installed. how do i actually update the firmware?

i found some instruction from 2013 but they reference using rpi-update which isn't found on my system. i also googled it and only came up with the 2013 article. where might one find a wiki page describing how to update the firmware on the pi? it would also be good to know what command to check the firmware?

pacman -Syu does this.
sync && reboot for it to take effect

Oh, I just ran:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu
systemctl reboot')

Nothing seems to have gone wrong.
