Watchdog file location

Postby MarkoSiroki » Fri Feb 06, 2015 7:58 am

Dear Sirs and Madams!

I've configured watchdog on rPi B+ with file directive:$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'file= /mnt/data/settings/userapp.watchdog')The problem is /mnt/data is fat32 partition that customers use for downloading some measurement results and I want to move this file somewhere in system partition. Which location is the best to put this file in: /opt, /var, ...? I know it is kind of stupid question, but I want to follow "guidelines"-"good praxis" for such tasks.

Sincerely,
Marko

It really depends on what is in that file, and what watchdog itself expects. In general, if it is a systemwide configuration file, those often go into /etc but if it is different for each user, then it would go in their home directories.

I do not have watchdog installed, but see from the writeup on web that there is a man page for watchdog and one for watchdog.conf, read those carefully.
