screen package leaving pi unresponsive

Postby haroldjclements » Tue Feb 10, 2015 1:40 pm

Hello forum,

Has anyone experienced the same? In ssh, I initialise a new 'screen' session, and keep a screen process running in the background (as in rTorrent, not really doing much, just waiting for a torrent file to be placed in it's "watch" folder). Close down my ssh season. Come back to the Pi after, let say, eight hours later, and she is completely unresponsive. I can't ssh into it her or browse the webpages being served from it.

If I ssh back into her after, lets say, an hour, I can connect and reattach to the "screen" session, and everything works fine.

Any help / suggestions would be gratefully received.

Kind Regards,
Harold Clements

This doesn't sound exclusively like a `screen` problem, but quite possibly an issue with one of the programs you have left running in screen.
