RTC clock for raspberry pi

Postby asg1448 » Tue Mar 17, 2015 12:27 am

This is not a question, rather an update to the following thread: viewtopic.php?t=4707&p=33168 . Topic is locked, so I cannot post reply

I'm posting it here because I spent considerable amount of effort and frustration trying to get the RTC clock working on raspberry pi. Every post I found had one detail missing: before configuring clock, you need to ENABLE I2C!!! Here's the write-up for raspbian: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-ra ... guring-i2c

For archlinuxarm, the correct way to do this is to uncomment following line in /boot/config.txt:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#device_tree_param=i2c_arm=on
')

Hope somebody finds this useful
