Can't type anything in dosbox

Alright so I am using xinitrc/startx command to start an X session with dosbox (otherwise I get failed can't start sdl). Dosbox opens up however I can't type anything in, ctrl c doesn't do anything and I have to switch to another tty. why is this?

Solved, a copied the configuration from another arch Linux PC I had and that made it work. So default config for dosbox on pi isn't correct.
