Help with gstreamer box

Postby riccardocagnasso » Wed May 27, 2015 12:37 pm

Hi, i need a "gstreamer box" on rpi2.

This mean that i need some rpi2 with gstreamer installed, working and supporting gst-omx hardware video decoding.
I got something working with Raspbian, but they have gst1.2 packaged that still has some bug while i can see that Archlinuxarm has gst1.4.5. This is somewhat good because i hate debian and i love archlinux :D but i can't get an Arch installation on rpi2 to work with gstreamer. To be precise i can't install and configure Xorg correctly: i'm not sure what is the proper Xorg driver and just trying them doesn't seem the correct approach.

Is there any guide/tutorial/documentation or anyone could provide help? pretty please? :p

For future reference, all you have to do is plug the right keywords into google and the urls for arch linux wiki pages will pop up.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GStreamer

Is your xorg working without gstreamer? The xorg wiki page for arch is:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg

When I needed to set up my regular Xorg config files, I googled around and found examples of other people's config files and modified them to fit my setup, but it was xorg for a usb monitor, not for gstreamer.
