Wireless Adapter (TL-WN725N) not working

Postby hasep » Tue Sep 22, 2015 9:36 pm

Hi everyone
I have been using arch linux on my Laptop for quite some time now and I love it, so I figured I'd use it for my Raspberry Pi model B which I intend to use as an AP/server. However I've run into a quite frustrating issue:
When I connect the WiFi Dongle (rtl8188eus) the pi loads a driver called "r8188eu". $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'iwlist scan') works perfectly, however that's about it. $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'iw list') will not show the device and running $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ip link set wlan0 up') outputs the MAC Address and then $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'IPv6: ADDRCONF(NEtDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready'), even though it leads to the LED lighting up for a few seconds.

Now for the frustrating part: on my laptop running arch linux the adapter works out of the box. When I check the driver being loaded I find it has loaded "r8188eu" as well, in fact the version is the very same as on the "v4.1.4_6773.20130222"
I notice however that the module size is somewhat different: 429 445 on the Pi vs 454 656 on x64, which I guess is due to the different architecture.
When I load the module manually the Pi informs me that the $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'module is from the staging directory, the quality is unknown, you have been warned.')

Why is there this discrepancy between the two systems? I'd imagine that the modules on these two systems differ only in compilation.
Also, what am I doing wrong?

Any input is greatly appreciated

the driver must installed manually. That link above works with some adaptation
