hostname and hosts

Hi really new to arch but the wikki is really good.
Studying for the LPI exams and the Raspberry Arch distro seemed to have everything I needed.
VI was right there.

I went though and added a user account and changed the root password.
I did not like the hostname and followed the wikki instructions about how to change it.

Then I went to work and came back. It would no longer boot.

the link below is a picture of what happens.
Oh also did pacman -Syu -- this might be the real problem.

It does not give the log in prompt after like five minutes.
How is it booted with out the login prompt?

look at the image you posted, the login prompt is there.

press enter to get a fresh one without the log messages
