Raspberry PI video encoding acceleration

Postby asg1448 » Sun Feb 07, 2016 5:50 am

According to this: http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/qu ... g-possible , there is hardware assist for video encoding. Is that feature available in arch and how do I take advantage of it? I currently use device to store some security footage, but the mjpeg files are way too huge, and encoding them on the fly is not feasible because it kills performance of the device. On raspbian they use OpenMAX plugin, but I'm not sure what needs to be done to get it working on arch

Try running "pacman -Ss acceleration" to see what packages are available for graphics acceleration.

The same plugin has to be used.
