'fs2ram' only makes sense in very rare cases. If nothing has to be changed, but it's really not a recommendation for everybody i think.
What you can do is stopping to write read access times to files and mounting /tmp, /var/log, etc. into tmpfs (ramdisk). This minimizes write accesses a lot.
In addition i replaced ext4 by f2fs as root filesystem (the Arch kernel is configured for and can boot it) because in my opinion ext4 is not the first choice for a sdcard (although for beginners a journaled filesystem is).
Doing so i never had a fault with sdcards and i use them on two RPis continuously since nearly 2 years ago.
