Hi there!
What is the current process of getting Alarm on the cubietruck?
I tried several things, but failed to use the sun7i kernel from the repos. Only get a blue blinking led.

Hi issue

The new linux-sun7i kernel in the repos works great with the cubietruck. Make sure you have the right fex/script.bin and u-boot for it to actually boot.

This is the fex I use: https://raw.github.com/cubieboard/cubie ... etruck.fex

For the u-boot just build it from the HEAD of https://github.com/linux-sunxi/u-boot-sunxi

I am following the Cubieboard 2 guide but flash a u-boot-with-spl compiled for the cubietruck. Also used the fex you posted. With this procedure I cant get my cubietruck to boot. Tryed copying over the uImage from your packages, that makes the leds blink and spins up the hdd, but doesnt show anything on screen.

Any pointers?

Stop assuming HDMI works out of the box.

Hi WarheadsSE,

Since the updated kernel works on the cubietruck, what would be the best way to get full support for it? My first idea is to submit a PR with a new package (uboot-sunxi-cubietruck, maybe) with the required u-boot, spl, fex and uEnv.txt. Does this make sense?

fcarolo, I have made this PR: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/pull/761 it needs testing on cubieboard2 before it can be merged!

OK, moscar. I'll build your packages, test on my cubieboard2 this evening and let you know how it goes.

Hi, there!

Anyone got hdmi output work out of the box?

I tried this:

/etc/modprobe.d/display.conf
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
options disp screen0_output_type=3
options disp screen0_output_mode=EDID:1280x720p60
options hdmi audio=EDID:0
blacklist mali')

/etc/modules-load.d/display.conf
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
disp
ump
disp_ump
hdmi
')

I do get hdmi output working on X, if I manually reload hdmi module over ssh (modprobe -R hdmi && modprobe hdmi) with correct resolution (detected using EDID), but virtual consoles (Ctrl + F2) are displaying crap. Without reloading hdmi, my Display remains at powersave.

Never mind... I just decided to keep using moscars old kernel. After days of struggling to get the official alarm kernel booting, I just found out that:

- display does not work correctly, only after reloading hdmi module
- fbcon does not work at all
- headers are broken (can't compile module for my dvb device)
- cedar das not work properly
- xv (x video) does not work properly

And this is only what I found out is broken after five minutes of usage. I really don't want to find out what else kevin mihelich broke in his kernel package...
