Falker gaves this link a little time ago...

http://elinux.org/Hack_A10_devices#Unbr ... the_device

But I think this is booting with USB on Windows...

On the other hand, most of our products right now are coming from China... maybe those that you got are less verified ;P

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Conn', 'T')ried everything possible before "penetrating into the board" :)

Even tried to boot it from SD. When I try to boot from SD none of the output device shows anything. So I can't even understand if it boots or not. If I try to boot it from internal flash, it just prints "Loading Please Wait" and stays like this forever.

Has anyone tried to take out the guts and do a lobotomy?

Cheers,
Conn

you have a usb uart device you can plug in to check the uboot messages?

Yes I have a cable and I'll make a new one for A1000. Work was a bitch this week. I'll concentrate my work on the device this Thursday and Friday. If I can find a way to make it breathe again I'll post here the findings.

Cheers,

Have you guys been able to unbrick your devices?

Can anyone publish a complete image I can download and DD to an SD card, I keep getting compile errors.
Many thanks
Mathew.

As this is also an Allwinner device, when we get our hands on it's relative (MK802) we'll be better prepared to support this.

@Matthew. I've booted from SD and it worked... The device was not bricked, it was just an Android boot problem. I'm not sure if it was the internal flash or the Android setup. I just didn't have the time to work on it harder to diagnose yet.

Puppy SD image was the life saver, you can find it here: http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/arm/releases/alpha/ Perhaps one of the developers can use it as I guide and make it work with Arch.

Thank god it wasn't bricked then :)

Does anybody know about the video playback capabilities under Linux? I have read that there's no driver supporting the hardware decoders for Linux yet, so you won't be able to play HD-video on the device until drivers are avalible. Has anyone been able to test this yet, or know the status of the driver?

If I get my hands on one, I'll run an Arch-based XBMC setup, so video playback is somewhat critical ^^'

Actually there are some drivers and players that work with ARM7 instructions. I'm not sure about Mele drivers for a specific distro but I've tried Android drivers for surround AC3 and UltraHD video playback and they all worked.

Device is amazingly great for a 70 USD hardware but as my Android boot broke trying to configure, I'll try to use Arch or Puppy if we can provide full hardware support.

I just got mine... I'm waiting for my 16 Gig SD Card so I can start hacking on it.

I saw that the drivers for linux were available for the video? Anybody tested them?
