Issue with installing Arch (kernel panic)

Postby mysteryname » Sun Oct 28, 2012 11:34 am

Hello,

I've been trying to install ARCH onto my Mele A2000, with the board revision 1.7. (I'm unsure if that makes a difference for ARCH however I did read it was an issue with another u-boot)

The kernel is panicking rather early in the boot process. I have the UART connected for some (helpful?) debugging.

Line 415 is where I think it all goes wrong.

I followed the instructions on the Mele A100 ARM page, however I used the default uEnv.txt. Was I meant to edit this in any shape or form?

Thank you
Mystery.

Yup, frustrating part of the sunxi family, the damned nand driver.

Would there be anything that I can do?

I only have a limited amount of knowledge but it would be great to learn, it seems I'm IRC around the same time you are WarheadsSE.

If you have some instructions or ideas to fix it, (I'm aware im making it seem easier than it is) I can do that for the 1.7 boards.

Did you mean the A2000?

Looks like it might be time for me to remake the uboot & image.

No, the A1000 but I don't know the board revision since I haven't open it.
Also, make a new kernel image may be useful for SATA.

Thanks for all your work.

I recompiled the U-boot with the adjusted PLL, however I did not get a successful boot.

The two files I have attached are raw output from the UART.

It seems to crash inconsistently. I rebooted a few times and was not able to get the same issue more than once.
