Sounds like this should be changed in the package? No?

You mean something like script.bin.pacnew?

Probably a better choice. There is a handy thing for this as part of PKGBUILD syntax.

Hi,

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PLyttle', 'u')boot-cubietruck overwrites script.bin, even if there were no changes. I make it a practice to check script.bin every time uboot updates.

I think that was the source of my problem thanks for this hint.

For anyone interested, I have been running this kernel (https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... x-armv7-rc) successfully for over a month now on my cubietruck. I run a headless server so I don't use anything graphic, and I doubt you can get it working with this. Also wifi doesn't work. But if you don't use any of that and want to run mainline, then maybe this is a good choice for you. :)

yeah mainline kernel is fine for headless usage ;)
i'm using this kernel since months https://github.com/mripard/linux/commits/sunxi-next (basically mainline + a few patches that will be in mainline kernel someday)

to get both CPU cores i'm using this u-boot: https://github.com/jwrdegoede/u-boot-su ... sunxi-test (i have no idea if there is a more recent u-boot version :? )

@sehraf
Would you please post your PKGBUILD and config for sunxi-next?

sure but it is a bit hackish :mrgreen:

i removed all experimental patches i was using so you don't have to mess with them (e.g. the driver for the security system from here [1] which is broken right now)

Also you get an uImage and sun7i-a20-cubietruck.dtb :!: (in contrast to most ALARM kernels that just append the dtb to the kernel image)

worth mentioning: [2] there is a nice tutorial for the mainline kernel including u-boot

Actually, we've been appending them until we got a nice recipe setup for the newer boards and get them all using uEnv.txt + dtbs seperately. This update should be coming shortly.

Maxime has just updated his repo to 3.17-rc1.
Here is an updated version of the PKGBUILD.
