With the latest kernel (3.4.90-2-ARCH) and the fex file below, all seems to be working!

Hi Sinck,

unfortunately, I can't get it to work on my hackberry. I'm using linux-sun4i 3.4.90.2-2 and compiled the hackberry.fex to hackberry.bin. I placed the hackberry.bin on the boot partition. USB is set to be powered ON but USB sticks are not detected (the power led on the stick is not lighting up). Wifi is also there and wifimenu finds my network, but upon selecting the network the hackberry reboots. The same happens if I use netctl.

Am I missing something? Should I file a bugreport at linux-sunxi?

If I'm not mistaken the .bin file should be called script.bin, not hackberry.bin

I copied hackberry.bin to setup.bin but no luck (would have been strange, because there never was a script.bin in the first place). I also just checked booting into android and wifi and usb is working there properly. Do you have any further hints?

I downloaded the hackberry uboot package: uboot-hackberry-2014.04-8-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz
it contains :

script.bin
u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin
uEnv.txt

It installs in /boot

script.bin NOT setup.bin

If there is no script.bin it got lost somehow. Re-install uboot-hackberry.

Sorry, that was a typo, I meant script.bin not setup.bin.

uboot-hackberry wasn't installed on my system. Sadly, after install the hackberry doesn't seem to boot into linux. There's no HDMI output and I can't connect to the hackberry via ssh. After dd'ing sunxi-spl.bin and u-boot.bin from the installation instruction at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/allwinner/hackberry the system is coming up again.

By the way, thanks for your help so far :)

A serial connection would be far more informative than "no HDMI output" since that doesn't include any of the actual boot process.

Indeed, but I first need a proper connector for the serial usb port, right? The normal usb ports do not support a serial connection AFAIK.

You can buy an usb-ttl interface on ebay for s little as $1.38 with free shipping.
just search for "usb to ttl 3.3v"

When you are willing to fork around $4.00 you get a complete cable.

EDIT
and the proper cable will set you back $2.14. Problem is you get 10 cables and 10 sockets for that money.
look for "3S Lipo Balance Wire"

EDIT again,
If it is a 2.0 mm pitch connector look for "JST 2.0mm 4-Pin Connector" They are a bit more expensive, $5.29 for 10 pairs.
