CubieBoard2 A20 Arch-Linux installing problems

Postby kalosha » Tue Aug 05, 2014 10:31 am

HI

This is my first post. I search over the forum but can found same problem.

This 2 day I'm trying to install Arch on my Cubie A20, but can't.
I follow general instructions http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... bieboard-2

Install Ubuntu in VM, following instructions, i'm create boot SD (8gb) but this is not working at all.
Only red light is on, and monitor is showing no signal.

I have same problems on Cubian (debian) OS when there was not correct uEnv.txt

Have any idea about this problem?

We also don't happen to initialize the HDMI unless you configure it, so don't assume that.

Check the uEnv.txt for anything about a machid

hi

yes I understand that hdmi is not configured, but there is no request for IP address, this why I think there is some other problem.

but anyway where can I found uEnv.txt documentation tutorial for testing?

Thanks

linux-sunxi.org

Do you have a serial connection available? That would make things so much simpler.

ttyS0

tty0 assumes there is a monitor attached for an actual TTY, which there is none.

With another SD I got connections. but no display connections.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[root@alarm ~]# dmesg | grep hdmi
[ 0.000000] Kernel command line: console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rootwait loglevel=8 panic=10 console=ttyS0 hdmi.audio=0 disp.screen0_output_mode=EDID:1280x720p60
')

with this configuration HDMI is not working.

32 GB class 10 uSD card, followed the instructions on http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... bieboard-2 under kubuntu (using fdisk and bsdtar, not parted nor tar). Connected with ethernet, powered up, but it doesn't boot. Router doesn't assign IP. All i get is the blue led flashing like this .. .. .. .. .. ..

any ideas?

That's the heartbeat. It's running, just didn't get an IP address.
