[RESOLVED] Cubietruck can't modify config.bin

Postby slawo » Tue Aug 19, 2014 7:30 am

I got my CT and decided to put arch on it. I'm relatively new to Arch, and this is my first embeded machine :) I flashed the NAND image provided here with liveSuite and everything went well (I didn't use any sdcard). It took me some time before i figured out that by default my hdmi was enabled, and vga disabled.

So I've decided to enable VGA as clone of hdmi based on this description, and while at it disable the leds. So I've converted /boot/script.bin with bin2fex, modified the fex file and converted back with fex2bin, overwriting the original bin.

After rebooting, however nothing happens, so what did I miss?

Not can't. Obvisouly, you managed to put it into a state where it is not working.

Hook up a serial, find out.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. By nothing happens I meant, that the system boots up as usual, and the options that I changed doesn't get enforced.

As it came out I was modifying the wrong file.

I've modified the /boot/script.bin where i should have been modifying the /dev/nanda/script.bin
so I've mounted /dev/nanda to /mnt , backed up the file, modified it , and I've overwritten the original one. reboot -> and everything works like a charm.
