Cubieboard2 - Only one core detected on mainline kernel

Postby silvik » Tue Jan 06, 2015 4:36 pm

Hi,

I followed the installation instructions for Cubieboard2 and booted the SD card successfully. However, I want to run the mainline kernel. After upgrading the system with pacman -Syu and rebooting, I installed linux-armv7. It warned something using an updated uboot, but I assume that pacman took care of that. After reboot I can see only one core active.

Do I need to configure something else or the mainline kernel is unable to use the second core?

Thank you.

pacman does NOT take care of that. You still have to burn the bootloader to your media of choice.

So a pacman -S uboot-cubieboard2 should do it, right?
Thanks, I hope it'll work.

Well, looks like pacman -S uboot-cubieboard2 is not the solution.
Any idea what should I try?
Thank you.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'p')acman does NOT take care of that. You still have to burn the bootloader to your media of choice.

I installed uboot-cubieboard2 from here https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... t-68583566, as instructed and I get this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

It doesn't boot. If it matters, I did this: install arch, pacman -Syu, reboot, pacman -S linux-armv7, pacman -U uboot-cubieboard2-2015.01-0-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz, reboot.

What am I doing wrong?
