cubietruck boot error

Postby gcd0318 » Tue Feb 10, 2015 11:07 pm

I created a new tf card for cubietruck by strickly following steps of http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... cubietruck, but the card boot up my cubietruck with errors:
1, no display. I connected my monitor to hdmi, and got display as plugged power. But after starting loading kernel, display halted.
2, no network, even the led for wired network is not blink.
That is, it is not usable at all.
I got the dmesg as attached log.txt

any one help please?

login over serial.

Look for the sunxi gmac module, this will need to be added to the modprobe.d.

This thread belongs in ARMv7/Allwinner. I am moving it there.

thanks.
that's, I need to add sunxi_gmac to /etc/modprobe.d/cubietruck.conf
right? I will try later.

Re: cubietruck boot error

Postby gcd0318 » Wed Feb 11, 2015 4:52 am

I added sunxi_gmac to modprobe.d and disp related items. After a modification to script.bin, I finally made my vga up, and eth0 ready. But it cannot get IP via dhcpcd. I'm keep working on this.

one more question: why not add gmac support to image for cubietruck? This is a show-stopper, and I believe DEV guys never forgot this. it should be reasonable to remove gmac from modprobe. Right?

Hello all,

I have the same problem. Gcd0318, if you find out, could you please specify what exactly needs to be added and modify to be able connect via ssh to the cubietruck after first reboot, load appropriate modules, dhcp and ssh up and running ? Thanks in advance

It would be great if this will be already in this package http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz.

best regards

We don't have one of these devices for testing, validation, etc. We can't make tarball alterations based on something we can't prove.

You may want to check this blog entry. It's probably outdated but contains a step by step description of the install process.
