So I compiled the sun7i legacy kernel without any modifications, but it won't boot. This does not make sense to me, as it should be the same that is being downloaded. The net upgrade size is -0.02 MiB.

The kernel loads, the LEDs blink, but they show a very low load only a second after booting, so obviously something is stopping the boot. The HDMI monitor says 'Input not supported'. The network is not connected. Journald does not log. Again, with the downloaded sun7i kernel all of this works fine.

I just hope this will not be an unsolved mystery.

Would be really nice to be back on track with the newest kernel.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to install Archlinux ARM on my cubietruck, but since a few days the installation guide has changed from the suni7 to the mainline kernel armv7.
So i followed the instructions http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/allwinner/cubietruck
but my cubie doesn't boot.
U-Boot loads the kernel (SysReq Keys are working) but nothing else happens.
What works now is that i have an output on my hdmi screen, but i only see two tux.
Can anybody reproduce the Problem and maybe help me to solve the Problem?

Thank you!

@skom

What do you mean? Do you run the newest uboot-cubietruck (2015-04-1) and linux-armv7 kernel now, or linux-sun7i with previous uboot? Those are now on my IgnorePkg.

I installed the Image with the linux-sun7i and previous uboot and updated the system to linux-armv7 and uboot-cubietruck (2015-04-1).
Now it works, but the direct installation of linux-armv7 didn't work.

Hm my installation was the old one, but the update brought exactly the same error you had.

Anyway, I ordered a serial cable for better debugging, can tell more in a couple of days.

OK What a hazard…

I used to run from nand instead of mmc
This does not work anymore. Booting the old kernel from nand, copying everything to mmc and I have a bootable
version.

But: I do have a separate /boot on the mmc so I had to change boot.scr/.txt and give it mmcbl0p3 hardcoded else it would look for init in /boot

wlan is not working dmesg gives me a failed to load firmware… which driver should it be now?

USB storage had some hiccups

Anybody tried bluetooth?
