Cubietruck Mainline Kernel WLAN and band not working

Postby ElwoodG » Thu Jun 25, 2015 3:39 pm

Hi,

since I was asked so 'nicely' I open a new topic here.

After the change from the sun7i to mainline Kernel I have the following things not working:

WLAN: in dmesg I find:
[ 8.980507] brcmfmac_sdio mmc1:0001:1: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac43362-sdio.txt failed with error -2

And there is no access to the onboard nand anymore (I used to boot from that).

Anybody knows how to get this working again?

WLAN is handled by module brcmfmac in mainline. This module needs file nvram_ap6210.txt, that you probably know from using the sunxi kernel to be placed in /usr/lib/firmware/brcm as brcmfmac43362-sdio.txt.
You can use package firmware-ap6210 to do so.
Also note that any stuff used to auto-load modules bcmdhd or ap6210 on linux-sunxi should better be removed as it's not available and will hence make systemd-modules-load.service fail.

NAND isn't supported in mainline on Allwinner SoCs yet, IIRC.

Ok Installing the firmware-package resolved this.

How about bluetooth? Is the magic still needed where I run the bcrm_patchram_plus utility?
