Hello Thread,
Firstly, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
The following question will sound bizarre and at the risk of getting more questions asking 'why' than answers, I will proceed
I know the obvious answer is 'try it', but I am not quite there yet with my linux skills to be able to feel confident that trying will succeed.
Can I use the miniDLNA that is discussed and posted in this thread under the scenario described below:
192.168.1.5 = Arch Linux ARM install (running Arch Linux ARM install linux)
192.168.1.10 = ebox-3300 (running Windows XP nLitened)
I have various HD connected to the ebox that I'd like to share the media over DLNA by using miniDLNA on the Arch Linux ARM install. I know this is not very efficient and I should either move the media to the Arch Linux ARM install or run a DLNA server on the XP system. However, the RAM utilisation of the ebox system is tight and I do not want to run more than I already run there. Also, the stuff I am running on the ebox interacts with the HD connected to it, so moving it to Arch Linux ARM install is not an option.
In linux is there a way to instruct miniDLNA to share some symbolic links, references over SMB, or anything else that will allow me to achieve my dream goal here? Appreciate the help, as always!
